Weather Poems: “What is Weather” & “Clouds”

“Clouds”

When I look up at the sky,

And look at the magnificent clouds,

They tell a story and are interesting to me,

When I look up at the clouds.

The Cirrus clouds say how do you do,

With each little puff of white fluff,

They say they are happy and you should be too,

When I look up at the clouds.

The stratus clouds protect me,

Laying a blanket right over my head,

They remind me that I am safe here,

When I look up at the clouds.

The Cumulus clouds make me feel strong and brave,

As I look at their fluffy white muscles,

They tell me to push as far as I can,

When I look up at the clouds.

When I look up at the clouds,

I think of great memories,

Because the clouds are love,

The love up above,

And the clouds will take care of me

What is Weather?

Whether the weather is hot,

Or whether the weather is cold,

Whether the weather is snowy,

And this story’s already been told!

Weather is the conditions,

Of the Earth every day!

The weather conditions are different though,

In every single way!

Some days are sunny and warm with a few white clouds in the sky!

Some days are wet and rainy with gray clouds, (they always make me want to sigh) haaaaaaaaa

Some days are snowy and cold with ice and sleds and skates,

And some days are leafy I guess you could say where you have to pull out the rakes!

This is Weather!

Weather Log:

Sophie’s weather log: January 11, 2012, It’s sunny and the snow is melting, no rain, and barely any snow, the temperature is in the 40’s and there are no clouds.

WCSH6 weather report: Good morning! A dry but much colder day today. Highs will be mostly in the 20s after highs around 40 yesterday. A storm will move up the east coast tonight and pass through the gulf of Maine tomorrow. Look for snow that will mix at times inland with sleet and freezing rain. It will likely change to rain along the coast and far south. Expect hazardous travel for the morning commute for southern-central Maine and New Hampshire moving into eastern Maine around noon. (SEE SNOWFALL MAP.) Check back for updates. Friday rain showers with pockets of freezing rain in the morning will change to snow showers during the afternoon and very gusty winds will kick in as well. Very cold air will pour in from Canada for Saturday through Monday!! Have a good day!

January 12, 2012: Weather log

Sophie’s weather report: A big storm today with a whole bunch of snow, this is not good snowman making snow though, it is more like sugar snow which is fun to make snow angels in and go skiing but I wouldn’t recommend playing outside today. There is no rain, no sun, and gray stratus clouds that are covering the whole sky!

WCSH6 weather report: Feels like 15 degrees but is actually 26 with wind at 13 mph. There is a snow rain mixture to day with 88% humidity and a lot of snow!

Dad’s Birthday: Made “sit-upons” and cards and cupcakes.

And Sophie & Caca made the cake--Cake Boss style!!
