At first she was hesitant to spend her TV time watching a program for school…now both she and Lily really enjoy and choose to watch Liberty Kids instead of Phinneas and Ferb!

Article about pigs with two sources

Pigs At The Farm: On Saturday, April 30, we got pigs. Hamm and Bacon arrived at our house for us to see. They were very cute and funny and STINKY! Here is my article about pigs, for you and me, to get to learn more about them…... There are all sorts of different kinds of pigs, from as big and stinky as warthogs, to pot bellied pigs, to small domesticated guinea pigs. The kind of pigs we got were regular farm pigs, we are going to butcher them. Warthogs are usually found in Africa, sometimes in Asia or New Zealand. Warthogs can be reddish brown or dark black, to me they're more ugly dark brown or black, but they smell the same no matter what color! Pigs are very intelligent animals, though it doesn't seem like it, there thinking system is the closest to humans. Pigs were brought to Northern America by Hernando De Soto, one of the explorers around 1530. Farm pigs were usually found all around Europe, so it was a big change for them coming to America. In English, there are many different words to describe pigs, Male pigs are known as boars, and female pigs are identified as sows, but most people just call them pigs. Hogs, or swine's are also used for pigs, swine's is a plural for pigs, as well as hogs. Having pigs at the farm will be different, but educational. See I'm learning so much about pigs all ready. I say, let the pig grow 4-5 months before butchering, do not give him any vitamins, and if you're going to eat him, don't get to attached. We are not going to domesticate our pigs, but they have been domesticated from 5,000-7,000 years! Some people say pigs are easier to train than dogs or cats, but they sure do smell more. Well, I've learned about these pigs on the site http://www.junglewalk.com/shop/Pig-gifts.htm and http://www.pocanticohills.org/stonebarns/pigs.htm if you want to more just visit these sites and VOTE FOR PIGS!
