7 x7 Seven Subjects & 7 things I learned Day 164

1.       Math

a. In math today I practiced solving for x.

b. 5 – 2x + x = 3 – x. First I combined all the x’s and added them to both sides to come up with 5 = 3, but since the x’s disappeared it means this is an untrue statement.

No solution.

c. 6x + 10 = 4(x + 3)

x = 1

d. -2x – 5 = -x + 1

x = -6

e. 3x + 2 – x = -6 + 2x + 8,

Equation is true for all statements.

f. 2x/3 + 1 = x.

x = 3

g. x + 2xy +1 – xy + 2x – 7 + x7.

X = 8

 

2.       Science

a. I learned that mummification helped doctors learn about the body’s internal organs. 

b. I learned that Egyptian doctors experimented with new medicines and drugs and noted them on a papyrus scroll that was one of the world’s first medical textbooks.

c. There were many different kinds of scrolls, one all about heart conditions, and another about woman and children’s diseases, and there was a “first-aid” scroll and recipe scrolls giving lists on how to make medicines.

d. There is a scroll referred to as, The Book of Surgery, there are 48 medical conditions listed by body part, to head down.

e. I learned that some of the conditions listed in the Book of Surgery, were listed as treacherous.

f. One part of the Book of Surgery explains skin grafts.

g. They expected cuts to become infected.

 

3.       History

a. In history today I learned about the discovering of the Egyptians past: The Rosette Stone was discovered 1799 by a French Soldier. The Rosetta stone was the key that enabled scholars to read the meanings of the hieroglyphs.

b. In 1816, Giovanni Belzoni began collecting pieces of the Rosetta stone for the British Museum. And then in 1822, Linguist Jean-Francois Champollion decoded the hieroglyphic script.

c. In 1880 Flinders Pertie started to survey the Great Pyramid. In 1922, Howard carter discovered King Tut’s tomb.

d. In 1939, Pierre Montet discovered the royal tombs at Tanis.

e. In 1992, the underwater survey of Ancient Alexandria began.

f. In the 1990’s Cat scans and DNA samples of mummies became possible.

g. In 1858 National Antiquities of Egypt was set up.

4. Language

a. Encantador ha capture a Shrek. Charming has captured Shrek.

b. Pero Artie llega justo a tiempo para salvar la situacion. But Artie comes just in time to save the situation.

c. Artie sera un gran rey. Artie will be a great king.

d. Shrek salio de su apuro. Shrek left his trouble.

e. Por fin Fiona y el podran volver a casa, a su Pantano, Culce Pantano. Shrek and Fiona finally made it back home, to the Swamp, their sweet swamp.

f.! Este problema quedo resuelto! And their problem was solved.

g. Amigos y enemigos. Friends and foes.

 

5. Reading

a. In Kingdom Keepers, Philby figured out that the first ride that would have the first clue to solving the fable would be the sun, the biggest sun in the park is on It’s a Small World.

b. However, the DHI’s never got to look for clues because the ride came to life and all the dolls were attacking the DHI’s.

c. Finn discovered the clue on how to find the clues in the ride. The rides that mention sun, wind, cloud, and stone have secret letters in them you can only see the letters when you use a different perspective, or in this case, 3d Glasses.

6. Writing

a. In writing today I learned about how to right directions.

b. I learned about Time-Order words, here are a few: first, second, then, next, after that, and finally.

c. Direction words: left, right, up, down, north, west.

d. Position words: Over, under, past, beyond, before, above, beside.

e. I read a paragraph and underlined some of the direction words.

f. Some of the most common time order words are first, second, and finally.

g. some of the most common direction words are right and left.

7. Music

a. Music Practice for 1 hour.
