7 x7 Seven Subjects & 7 things I learned                                Day 167

1.       Math

a. In math today I learned about the step by step problem and how to solve word problems.

b. I learned to start labeling stuff to try and figure out what to start word problems with.

c. The trick is to solve the algebra problem last so you know everything else is right.

d. Darcy has 9 fewer songs in her playlist than double the number Sarah has, together they have 81 songs, and how many songs does Darcy have.

Darcy has 51 songs.

e. A purse and matching shows cost a total of 95$ If the shows cost 55$ more than the purse, how much does the purse cost? $20

f. Your mom has offered you four dollars and hour to clean the garage, plus a ten dollar bonus if you start by 8 a.m. on Saturday. Your dad has offered you 4.50c per hour to clean the basement. Each job would take all weekend. Before you decide which offer you’ll accept., you want to figure this out. A. Assuming you start by 8 a.m. on Saturday if you only want to work for 15 hours this weekend, which offer is better?

b. how many hours would you have to work to make their offers equal?

g. Answer: Moms offer is better

20 hours.

 

2.       Science

a. I learned that during the process of mummification, the corpse’s skull was sawed in so the brain could be removed.

b. The Egyptians knew that knew the pulse and the heart were related, but they only had one word for muscles and blood vessels and believed they were responsible for the movement.

c. They thought that blood vessels carried many different substances like--- air, water, blood, semen, urine, and solid wastes.

d. The Egyptians mixed science, religion, and magic when they practiced medicine. Many were prayers to the goddess Isis, who had once healed the god Osiris.

e. Some people think that the biggest contribution that Ancient Egypt gave to modem times is time itself.

f. They brought the new and “right “calendar to our world, the same calendar as we used today.

g. They made many scientific breakthroughs, like the practice of many good medicines.

 

3.       History

a. I learned that Antony married Octavia, but did not actually love her and it wasn’t after long before his thoughts turned to Cleopatra again.

b. Antony treated Octavia with the greatest of respect because she was the sister of his rival.

c. Antony knew that Cleopatra was the richest woman in the world, and because he was the feather to her twins, she gave him much gold and silver to pay his soldiers.

d. I learned that Antony issued a large number of silver coins designed to show the world that he and Cleopatra were a powerful couple, on one side of the coin was a portrait of Antony, and on the other side was Cleopatra.

e. I learned ythat Antony gave Cleopatra beautiful treasures that money could not buy, like the Cyprus which he gave back to Cleopatra to restore Egyptians rule.

f. I learned that serpent rings, coiled snake rings and hawk headed earrings were some of the most famous Egyptians jewelry.

g. Antony and Cleopatra were officially married and the Egyptians supported her a lot and so did the Romans, she made peace with both countries.

4. Language

a. El cuente de Pedrito Conejo. The count of Peter Rabbit.

b. Habia una vez cuatro conejitos llamados Pompon, Monita, Cola de Algodon y Pedrito. There were four bunnies that were called, Pompom, Molita, Algodon, and Peter.

c. Vivian con su madre er un monticulo de arena bajo. They lived with their mother that lived on one big mound of sand.

d. las raices de un enorme abeto. The roots of a huge tree.

e. Queridos mios, le dijo manana la senora Conejo. That’s mine, good morning said Mrs. Rabbit.

f. Pueden ir al campo sendero, we can take the trail to the field.

g. Pero no vayan a la huerta del senor Gregorio. But do not go to the garden of Mr. Gregory’s.

5. Reading

a. Continuing on with the KK story: Finn found that Maybeck was still asleep when he went to go visit him and Jelly, he had been asleep for more than 24 hours now and grandmother was worried, really worried, Finn knew it was because Maybeck’s DHI was captured by the Overtakers, so that night Finn and Philby went right to Wayne to figure it out.

b. Finn and Philby figured out that Maybeck probably was in Space Mountain because it was so dark, and big, so they snuck their way through Space Mountain and rescued Maybeck.

c. The next day, Charlene and Willa went to the park during the day thinking and hoping that the ride wouldn’t attack them during the day, but when they got on Winnie the Pooh, where they figured the wind would be, they realized they were the only ones in their boat and in the boat behind them, they started to get scared, and in the rain scene of the ride, so much rain came down and the doors to the next scene wouldn’t open, and Willa and Charlene’s vehicle
